The Challenge

We were challenged by Glycemicon, a Swiss biotechnology company based in Brugg, Switzerland, developing novel nutraceuticals for managing prediabetes, diabetes and obesity; to create minimalistic, UX design corporate website, with simple and easy navigation. With only two design revisions, we have created content-driven corporate website with intuitive navigation, which is engaging for the user and in the meantime, provides complete showcase of the brand.

Adaptive Design

A strength of the adaptive design which was implemented into this website gives a more relevant and modern user experience that the normal fully responsive design. We have started the design process at the lowest screen resolutions of the site and continued to the highest ones.

User Friendliness

This website is fast and easy to access with intuitive navigation and clean & minimalistic corporate design. Structured and ease of understanding, with emotional content, and carefully chosen pictures which gives you warm nature feeling.

Emotional Content

Website’s emotional pictures & messages gets the user attention; self-explanatory iconography enhances the user experience; and the clear CTAs drives him through the way, improving the user interest in reading the complete website content.

Font Families

The fonts used throughout the Glycemicon website have been chosen in order to guarantee a standardized display of text on any screen as well as improve the readability and give a rounded nature feeling.

Headings: CAPITAL LETTERS - Nexa Bold
Subheadings and Titles: First letter of the sentence is capital, the rest are lower case. (Nexa Regular)
Body text: Nexa Thin

Color palette is evolving from blue through green, associating the nature, healthy and warm feeling. With adding some violet and dark tones, we have the mood of the science and biotech. Glycemicon’s images are brightened with light colors but never heavily desaturated. Using a high proportion of light colors, green & blue especially in website and homepage helps to identify the brand.

White is always used to highlight messages and the white spaces are used to counter balance the colors and create dynamism and spacious feel on the layouts. Color combinations are used to differentiate or divide information, create mood and harmonize the imagery or photography.
